Michael Burke is the Acting First Assistant Secretary, Industry Partnerships and Infrastructure Policy Division, Department of Home Affairs. The Division leads the Cyber and Infrastructure Security Group’s policy functions relating to critical infrastructure and transport security, delivering best practice policy through partnership with industry and international stakeholders, to ensure protection of Australia’s critical infrastructure.
Prior to commencing in the Centre in October 2021, Michael worked at the Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet as Assistant Secretary, Homeland Security. Michael has previously held Senior Executive roles in the Department of Home Affairs in Transnational Crime Policy, and Immigration Policy.
Michael holds a Bachelor of Economics from Adelaide University, and a Master of Management from the Australian National University.
